Stylist Aki Naito knew from a remarkably young age that hair would be his future. In pursuit of this dream, Aki became an assistant at the age of 15 and was cutting hair as a stylist in his native Japan by the time he was 16. Aki moved to NYC to challenge himself with the diverse array of hair that such a cosmopolitan city has to offer. Jennifer joined Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger Salon in 2011 where she quickly became the go-to stylist for a perfect blow-dry and sleek, easy to manage cuts. Melissa “Mia” Myers is a New York-based hairstylist. The Ohio native studied at the Casal Aveda Institute in Youngstown, Ohio before relocating to New York City. There, Santiago began working at the iconic Sharon Dorram at Sally Hershberger salon, where she still cuts and styles hair. Mia’s celebrity clientele includes Mariska Hargitay, Martha Stewart, Dove Cameron, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Christina Hendricks, and Dr. Oz, among others.
A native of Minneapolis and a 35 year resident of New York, Tim Lehman is one of the Upper East Side’s elite stylists and best kept secrets. As a top professional in the hair industry and New York style and fashion scene for more than 35 years, Tim is known not only for his incredible work but also for his professionalism, discretion and respect. Stylist Machiko Yamamoto was born and raised in Fukuoka Japan where she trained at top hair salons in Tokyo. In particular, she studied under Akio Tsuchiya, the maestro of Kimono hair. Machiko has created a name and following with celebrities and A list clients in New York since 2003. When she started her professional journey with Peter Coppola, she went on to work with Kevin Mancuso and Serge Normant at John Frida.
Meaghan was born and raised in Vermont but quickly made her way to New York City to study hair with a goal to learn from the best in the industry. After studying at the Aveda Institute, Meaghan perfected her craft at the prestigious salons of Sally Hershberger and Serge Normant where she worked alongside some of the most talented colorists in New York City. Learning from their expert techniques, and developing her own style along the way.
Yetty Bames has always had the passion to work in the hair, beauty, and fashion industry since her early childhood. After pursuing her higher education in psychology, Yetty returned to her true first love, BEAUTY after relocating to New York City. In 2011, Yetty took residence at MIZU Salon as their in-house beauty and brow specialist, and soon after was offered the same opportunity at GARREN NYC, John Barrett, and the Salon @ Bergdorf Goodman.
At a young age, a well-connected aunt introduced colorist Sophie Georgiou to the bewitching world of Parisian hair stylists. This early encounter ultimately led to a more disciplined study of hair color and the formation of a coloring technique highly influenced by her training and studies as a painter.
Brandi began her career at Sally Hershberger salon downtown, training under senior accomplished stylists, including assisting Sally Hershberger for over 2 years. Brandi’s work has been featured in magazines such as many issues of VANITY FAIR, VOGUE, and ALLURE. Brandi frequents New York Fashion Week shows, doing models’ hair for top designers.
Danielle Pfeifer took youthful inspiration from a family steeped in creativity. Her raw exuberance for hair was purified by the disciplined Vidal Sassoon training she received early on. It was this highly structured understanding of hair that gave her a solid base on which to experiment when she joined John Sahag.
Jeremy Carta is a Miami native who has been in the hair industry for 17 years. Jeremy has worked with various celebrities; including Katy Perry, Simon Cowell, Maura Tierney, Stacy Dash, San Esmail, and Giancarlo Giametti. He has also worked with several Latin celebrities; including Ana Barbara, Dulce Maria, Gabriela Sabtini, Lupita Jones, Natalia Denegri, Candela Ferro, and many more.
Hair has been a fascination of mine for as long as I can remember. As a thick, frizzy-haired, kid, I would sit and watch my mother blow out her hair. With every flip of the brush, I watched her spirit became more energized and confident. I thought to myself this is what I’m meant to do; I want to help people feel confident and powerful. I went on to own my own studio in Florida, and now I’m so happy to be bringing that powerful feeling to life in NYC.
Clifford Stafford is originally from the United Kingdom but currently resides in New York City with his dog Dottie, who frequently accompanies him to his haircuts. Clifford has decades of experience cutting and styling hair in major cities around the world. His vibrant personality and consistently excellent work have given him a loyal client base that trusts him to give them their best, perfectly styled hair every time.
Sarah Barbour is the manager here at SDSH. She grew up in Michigan and attended college at Western Michigan University. After graduating, she moved to New York City to go to beauty school and get her cosmetology license. Here, she worked at different salons, including Louis Licari and Frederic Fekkai, before coming to work as one of Sharon Dorram’s color assistants.
